Trump May Meet North Korea’s Kim Jong Un During Asia Visit Next Month

Former U.S. President Donald Trump may hold a significant meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during his Asia visit next month, signaling a potential revival of diplomatic discussions between Washington and Pyongyang.

Reports suggest that preparations are underway for Trump’s upcoming Asia tour, which might include stops in Japan, South Korea, and potentially North Korea.

The meeting, if confirmed, would be the first interaction between the two leaders since Trump left office in 2021. Their previous summits — held in Singapore (2018) and Hanoi (2019) — were historic but ended without a concrete agreement on North Korea’s denuclearization. However, Trump’s willingness to re-engage with Kim indicates his continued interest in maintaining a strong diplomatic presence in the region.

Analysts believe that Trump’s possible meeting with Kim could serve multiple purposes — from addressing global security issues to boosting his international image ahead of the U.S. presidential election. Meanwhile, North Korea’s recent missile tests and growing tensions on the Korean Peninsula make the timing of this potential meeting particularly significant.

Whether the encounter results in substantial diplomatic progress remains to be seen, but it undeniably rekindles global interest in the Trump–Kim dynamic that once captured worldwide attention.
