IndiGo Apologises for Flight Disruptions, Says It Is Working to Restore Normalcy

IndiGo apologises for the inconvenience caused by widespread flight cancellations and delays, and says its teams are working diligently to restore normal operations.

Over the past two days, IndiGo has witnessed severe disruption in its nationwide network, leading to an unusually high number of cancellations and prolonged delays. Major airports like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai experienced heavy operational pressure, causing passenger crowds and long queues.

According to IndiGo, the disruptions were triggered by a combination of operational challenges, high air-traffic congestion, winter weather conditions, and limitations in crew availability. The airline is now recalibrating schedules, re-assigning staff, and strengthening rostering to bring stability back into the system.

Multiple aviation bodies — including DGCA, BCAS, and AAI — are in continuous coordination with IndiGo to ensure faster recovery. Authorities have initiated reviews, advisory meetings, and operational audits to avoid recurrence of similar disruptions.

In its public message, IndiGo assured passengers that efforts are underway to restore normalcy in the shortest possible time. The airline also reiterated its commitment to passenger safety, transparency, and timely communication throughout the recovery

process.
