Anil Agarwal Mourns the Loss of His Son Agnivesh Agarwal

Vedanta Group founder Anil Agarwal shared an emotional note after the death of his son, who suffered a heart attack while undergoing treatment in the US.

Agnivesh Agarwal, son of Anil Agarwal, founder and chairman of the Vedanta Group, has died at the age of 49, the family confirmed on social media.

 

Anil Agarwal expressed grief over the death of his son by sharing an emotional post on X. "Today is a dark day in my life," Agarwal said. 

 

Anil Agarwal's son Agnivesh Agarwal was 49 years old. He had an accident while skiing in the United States. He was undergoing treatment at the hospital. He suffered a massive heart attack while undergoing treatment. He died in it.

 

Anil Agarwal is the founder and chairman of Vedanta Group. According to the Forbes July 2025 list, Anil's family wealth is estimated at around Rs 35,000 crore. He is ranked 16th on the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025 and is also among the top global Non-Resident Indian (NRI) wealth creators.

 

Anil Agarwal was married to Kiran Agarwal in 1975, and the couple had two children, Agnivesh Agarwal and Priya Agarwal. Agnivesh was born in 1976. Agnivesh was the light of his mother's life. His brothers and sisters and friends loved him. Anil Agarwal has also given emotional information about Agnivesh's dreams in the post.

 

Anil said, "Today is a dark day in my life. My beloved son Agnivesh left me too soon. He was only 49 years old. He had a lot of life ahead of him.  His dream remained unfulfilled. He was being treated at Sinai Hospital in New York after a skiing accident. A sudden heart attack took him away from us."

 

He further stated, "The grief of the parents who had to say goodbye to their son can never be described. Children are not meant to go before their fathers. I still remember June 3, 1976, the day Agni was born.
