Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran receives honorary knighthood for his role in boosting India-UK economic ties. UK Recognises Chandrasekaran’s Contribution to Strengthening India-UK Trade Relations.

"The Tata Group has been a long-standing investor in the UK. This investment spans the automotive, steel, technology, and consumer sectors. It plays a vital role in supporting employment, advanced manufacturing and the shift towards cleaner technologies in the UK. ’’

 

"As Chairman of the Tata Group, he has made an exceptional contribution to strengthening India-UK trade links and increasing investment in the UK over many years. ’’

 

British High Commissioner to India Lindy Cameron described Chandrasekaran as a "great friend of the UK and an iconic figure in India's corporate world". The award was bestowed on Chandrasekaran by Cameron on behalf of King Charles III of Britain.

 

"This honorary knighthood is a testament to his impact on global trade and his many contributions to advancing growth opportunities between the UK and India," the High Commissioner said at the event. ’’

 

Cameron said Chandrasekaran's leadership embodies the entrepreneurial spirit, vision and aspiration that has helped propel India-UK trade relations to new heights.

 

Chandrasekaran said the honour does not belong to him alone, but to "all the associates of the Tata Group". ’’

 

"With more than 70,000 employees, the Tata Group has a strong and long-standing relationship with the UK across the technology, consumer, hospitality, steel, chemicals and automotive sectors. Also, reputable British brands like JLR and Tetley are also associated with it. ’’

 

"Our commitment to the UK for the future remains strong and unwavering. We will continue to invest in the UK... JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) is committed to driving a fully electric future, advanced manufacturing, especially in battery technology, in green steel production and in strengthening the innovation ecosystem. Which will shape the industries of the future. ’’

 

"Our resolve is to deepen partnerships, build, serve and build a future of shared prosperity between the UK, India and the Tata Group," Chandrasekaran said. ’’
