Ramesh Awasthi is the BJP candidate from Kanpur. Ramesh Awasthi has been associated with journalism for the last three decades. Ramesh Awasthi is in charge of the state working committee. He was supported by senior BJP leaders. He has been handed a ticket to replace existing MP Satyadev Pachauri.

The Kanpur parliamentary constituency consists of Govind Nagar, Sisamau, Aryanagar, Kidwai Nagar and Kanpur Cantt assembly segments. Ramesh Awasthi is a member of the Uttar Pradesh BJP working committee. Ramesh belongs to a family of farmers. He has also made a mark in the world of journalism. Awasthi was also a member of the Advisory Committee on Hindi Rajbhasha to the Government of India. He has worked extensively towards promoting Hindi not only in India but also internationally. Ramesh Awasthi is also known for organizing many historic social events in Kanpur.

 

Who is Ramesh Awasthi?


Ramesh Awasthi is a resident of Nagla Hussa village in the Amritpur area of Farrukhabad. While in Kanpur, he has been living in Swaroop Nagar since 1986. Ramesh Awasthi said that his family background has been associated with the Rashtriya Sevak Sangh. In 1967, his brother Brahmadutt Awasthi also contested elections in Farrukhabad. Apart from this, he has always been active in the Sangh's program. As a student leader at a degree college in Farrukhabad in the 1990s, he also won the president's post. He said that following the party's policy, he will reach out to the people and will be successful in winning the trust of the people. He is a journalist, news presenter and editor, who is currently the group editor of Sahara Samay TV Network and the channel head of Sahara Samay Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, has been associated with journalism for the last three decades. Ramesh Awasthi has worked in several newspapers and TV news channels. He left journalism to pursue a career in politics. Ramesh Awasthi did his MA from Badri Vishal Degree College. He was also the president of the students "union. He holds LLB and MPhil degrees. He was selected on Lekhpal, but he had a passion for journalism.

 

Ramesh Awasthi has held many important positions in his professional career. He is also the host of the popular talk show "Samay Samvad" on the Sahara Samay TV network, where he has quizzed well-known personalities from various fields. During his tenure, Sahara News Network has ranked Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand channels in the top-3. He also oversees the functioning of Sahara Samay channel for Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh as well as Rajasthan and NCR.

 

He has also been made a member of the Advisory Committee on Hindi Rajbhasha of the Government of India. He is also the chairman of the National Media Club, a large association of regional journalists in India. 'Atal Kavyanjali 'has been organised in the memory of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. His contribution is considered very important in the field of journalism, and he is also considered to have a strong hold in the Indian social, political, and administrative corridors.

 

Ramesh Awasthi's Political Career

 

The BJP has fielded journalist Ramesh Awasthi from Kanpur. He has been given ticket in place of sitting MP Satyadev Pachauri. However, shortly before the release of the BJP's list, Satyadev Pachauri had announced that he would not contest the elections and had even written to party president J. P. Nadda about it. Polling for Kanpur Lok Sabha seat will be held on May 13 and counting of votes will take place on June 4. The BJP has fielded Ramesh Awasthi from Kanpur. Such was Ramesh Awasthi's passion for journalism that despite being selected for the post of Lekhpal, he did not contribute and took his journalism career to new heights. After making waves from Noida to Kanpur, he has now made a strong mark in the field of politics by getting a BJP ticket from Kanpur as a Lok Sabha candidate. He has, however, been a two-time Lok Sabha candidate from Banda. Earlier this month, he had resigned from the posts of group editor, head of administration and channel head at Sahara News Network. 

 

Ramesh Awasthi, the BJP candidate from Kanpur, says he has seen Kanpur since his childhood. He also knows the specialities of Kanpur and the flaws are also in his mind. He wants complete development of Kanpur. Awasthi came to the Amar Ujala Samvad program on Tuesday evening and answered the questions of people associated with different fields. He also spoke about his vision and methods for Kanpur.

 

Why wasn't a ticket issued to Satyadev Pachauri?

 

While the BJP has denied tickets to some of them for indulging in anti-party activities, some of them have changed their candidates after they were asked not to contest. Satyadev Pachauri is a Lok Sabha MP from Kanpur. Sitting BJP MP Satyadev Pachauri on Sunday wrote a letter to party national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, asking him not to consider his name for the Lok Sabha ticket as he was not interested in contesting the polls. Along with this, he wrote on X that he does not want to participate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

 

The decision has been conveyed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, he added. I am a loyal worker of the party and will continue to discharge the responsibilities given to me by the party. He returned to Kanpur from Delhi on Sunday afternoon The letter was later sent.
