Shahjahanpur: On 1 February 2024, Thursday, MP MLA Court of Shahjahanpur has acquitted former Union Minister of State Swami Chinmayanand in the rape case.

Let us remind you that 13 years ago, in 2011, his student, a disciple of Swami Chinmayanand, the former Union Minister of State for Shahjahanpur, accused him of rape. In this instance, the High Court granted a stay to the former Union Minister of State, Swami Chinmayanand. The MP MLA court had the entire case on trial. Now, in this thirteen-year-old case, Swami Chinmayanand has been exonerated by the MP MLA Court of Shahjahanpur. According to the government's advocate, Swami Chinmayanand has been found not guilty in this case because there was insufficient evidence against him.

In 2019, Swami Chinmayanand was also guilty in one other rape case from A law college student. Swami Chinmayanand has been acquitted in that case also.

According to Swami Chinmayanand' lawyer Om Singh, that "his client was found guilty in a case in which he had no involvement. And it has taken nearly 12 years to establish his innocence."
