BJP's Dr. Lata Wankhede wins by 4,71,222 votes and received total 7,87,979 votes. BJP's Dr. Lata Wankhede defeated INC candidate Chandra Bhusan Singh Bundela, who received 3,16,757 votes.

Sagar Election Result Highlights: Dr. Lata Wankhede, candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Sagar, Madhya Pradesh Constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections 7,87,979 votes. INC candidate Chandra Bhusan Singh Bundela lost the election by a margin of by 4,71,222 votes. 

 

In Sagar 2024 Lok Sabha Election Results, Dr. Lata Wankhede, candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party defeated INC candidate Dr. Chandra Bhusan Singh Bundela , who received 3,16,757 votes.

There are 29 Lok Sabha constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. The constituency has been reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates since 1967. It includes parts of Sagar and Vidisha districts. According to the 2011 census, the population of Sagar is 2313901. 72.01 per cent of the population lives in rural areas and 27.99 per cent in urban areas. In Sagar, 22.35 per cent of the population belongs to the Scheduled Castes and 5.51 per cent to the Scheduled Tribes. According to the Election Commission data, there were 15,20,184 voters in this seat in the 2014 elections. There were 7,04,827 female and 8,15,357 male voters. In the 2014 elections, the voter turnout was 58.67 per cent.


The first election to the Sagar Lok Sabha seat was held in 1951. In the first election held here, Sodhiya Khubchand of the Congress won. He had defeated Chintamanrao of the Jana Sangh. Sodhi had defeated Chintamanrao by a margin of over 50,000 votes. In the 1951 elections, this seat was for the general category, but after delimitation, in the 1957 elections, this seat was reserved for the Scheduled Castes 

 

Lok Sabha elections 2019: BJP's Raj Bahadur Singh got 6,46,231 votes (won), Congress' Prabhu Singh Thakur got 3,40,689 votes and BSP's Rajkumar Yadav got 20,363 votes
