INC candidate Dr Dharamvira Gandhi wins by 14,831 votes and received total 3,05,616 votes. INC candidate Dr Dharamvira Gandhi defeated AAP candidate Dr Balbir Singh, who received 2,90,785 votes.

Patiala Election Result Highlights: Dr Dharamvira Gandhi, candidate of the Indian National Congress won the Patiala, Punjab Constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by 3,05,616 votes.  AAP candidate Dr Balbir Singh lost the election by a margin of by 14,831 votes. 

 

In Patiala 2024 Lok Sabha Election Results, Dr Dharamvira Gandhi, candidate of the Indian National Congress defeated AAP candidate Dr Balbir Singh, who received 2,90,785 votes.

Patiala is one of the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in Punjab. Patiala district has one Lok Sabha constituency comprising a total of 8 Vidhan Sabha constituencies. According to the 2011 census data, Patiala had a population of around 19 lakh. The literacy rate of the region was 75.28 per cent, with male literacy of 80.20 per cent and female literacy of 69.80 per cent. Patiala is famous for its pegs, turbans and parandas. Patiala presents a different way of life There is a great mix of Rajput, Mughal and Punjabi cultures. Patiala, a former princely state, has been the capital and a district headquarters of Punjab located in the Malwa region of Punjab. Malwa has the highest number of districts in the reorganised Punjab. Patiala is a young city, a few years older than two centuries. Patiala was established as an independent Sikh princely state by Baba Ala Singh in the 18th century.


Lok Sabha elections 2019: In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress candidate Preneet Kaur won from this seat by securing 5,32,027 votes. While Shiromani Akali Dal's Surjit Singh got 3,69,309 votes, NPP's Dharam Vira Gandhi got 1,61,645 votes.
