BJP's Arun Govil Wins by 10,558 Votes and received total 5,46,469 votes. BJP's Arun Govil defeated SP's Sunita Verma, who received 5,35,884 votes.

Meerut Election Result Highlights: Arun Govil, candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Meerut, Uttar Pradesh Constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by 5,46,469 votes. SP's Sunita Verma lost the election by a margin of by 10,558 votes.

 

In Meerut Constituency 2024 Lok Sabha Election Results, Arun Govil, candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party defeated SP's Sunita Verma, who received 5,35,884 votes.

There are 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. Meerut's bullion market is Asia's No. 1 business market. According to the 2011 census, Meerut has a population of about 35 lakh, of which 65 per cent are Hindus and 36 per cent Muslims. The total number of voters in Meerut is 1964388, out of which 55.09 percent are male and 44.91 percent are female voters. The voter turnout in 2014 was 63.12 per cent. Some areas of Hapur also connect with Meerut Lok Sabha, in total there are 5 assembly constituencies here. These are Kithore, Meerut Cantt, Meerut City, Meerut South and Hapur. In the 2017 Lok Sabha elections, Meerut city and other assembly seats went to the Samajwadi Party.

 

Lok Sabha elections 2019: In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Rajendra Agarwal won from this seat, he got 5,86,184 votes. BSP's Haji Yaqoob Qureshi came second with 5,81,455 votes and Congress' Harendra Agarwal came third with 34,479 votes.
