Lok Sabha MP Danish Ali Suspended after Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati's decision

Danish Ali, the Amroha Lok Sabha MP who was harassed by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri in the legislature, was suspended from the BSP for anti-party activities.

Lok Sabha MP Danish Ali Suspended after Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati's decision

The Uttar Pradesh unit of the party issued a brief statement stating that Ali has been suspended due to his anti-party activities.

Ali and other opposition members had protested against the government's move to remove TMC member Mahua Moitra from the Lok Sabha for "unethical conduct" by leaving the proceedings the day before. Other members of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) stayed in their seats in the House.

Although the BSP led by Mayawati has kept a distance from both the opposition and the ruling alliance, Ali has been actively joining the ranks of the opposition to criticize the BJP and its policies.

In a letter to Ali, the general secretary of the party, Satish Chandra Misra, stated, "You were told verbally many times that you should not make any statement or take any action against the policies, ideology, and discipline of the party, but despite this you have been continuously acting against the party."

The party accused him of engaging in anti-party activities and forgetting the assurances he had provided.

"Therefore, now, in the interest of the party, you are suspended from the membership of the Bahujan Samaj Party with immediate effect," the Hindi version of the letter stated.

Ali declared shortly after his party suspension that he never engaged in anti-party activities and that he simply voiced his opposition to the "anti-people" policies of the BJP-led government, vowing to "fight back" and never waver from his beliefs.

He called Mayawati, the leader of the party’s decision to suspend him "unfortunate".

Although the BSP led by Mayawati has kept a distance from both the opposition and the ruling alliance, Ali has been enthusiastically engaging the ranks of the opposition to criticize the BJP and its policies.
