The Jhanjharpur Lok Sabha constituency between the Kosi and Kamla rivers in Bihar's Darbhanga district has a rich political history and evolving dynamics. Part of the Mithilanchal region along with Madhubani and Darbhanga, has been shaped by the influence of notable leaders over the years. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, JD(U)'s RP Mandal won with 602,391 votes, followed by RJD's Gulab Yadav and AIFB's Surendra Prasad Suman.
