BJP's Darshan Singh Choudhary wins by 4,31,696 votes and received total 8,12,147 votes. BJP's Darshan Singh Choudhary defeated INC candidate Sanjay Sharma Sanju Bhaiya, who received 3,80,451 votes.

Hoshangabad Election Result Highlights: Darshan Singh Choudhary, candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh Constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by 8,12,147 votes. INC candidate Sanjay Sharma Sanju Bhaiya lost the election by a margin of by 4,31,696 votes.

Hoshangabad is an assembly constituency in Madhya Pradesh. Hoshangabad was founded in the early 15th century by Sultan Hushang Shah Gauri, the second king of Mandu (Malwa). The city is situated on the banks of river Narmada. There is a security paper factory in Hoshangabad in which paper is made to print Indian rupees. Hoshangabad was named after Hoshang Shah, the ancient name of Hoshangabad is Narmadapuram. The city is one of the major producers of soybean. Agriculture is the main occupation of the people in this area.

 

According to the 2011 census, the population of Hoshangabad is 2390546. 74.13 per cent of the population lives in rural areas and 25.87 per cent in urban areas. Scheduled Castes constitute 16.65 per cent of the population and Scheduled Tribes 12.53 per cent. According to the Election Commission data, there were 15,68,127 voters in the 2014 elections. Of these, 7,32,635 were female voters and 8,35,492 were male voters. In the 2014 elections, the voter turnout was 65.76 per cent.

 

Lok Sabha elections 2019: BJP's Uday Pratap Singh won by 8,77,927 votes, Congress's Shailendra Dewan came second with 3,24,245 votes, BSP's MP Chaudhary came third with 15,364 votes
