Gautam Budh Nagar district, adjoining the national capital New Delhi, was established on 9 June 1997. The headquarters of the district is located in Greater Noida, adjacent to Delhi. The importance of this district has been further enhanced by the inclusion of major industrial units within its limits and the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, as well as developing industrial authorities such as Noida and Greater Noida, in the National Capital Region.
