Faizabad Election Result Highlights: Awadhesh Prasad, candidate of the Samajwadi Party won the Faizabad constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by 5,54,289 votes. BJP's Lallu Singh lost the election by a margin of 54,567 votes.

The Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency comprises five assembly segments - Dariaabad, Bikapur, Rudauli, Ayodhya and Milkipur. 84 per cent of the population is Hindu and 14 per cent is Muslim. The Faizabad Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh is the focus of not only the state but also the country. The Faizabad Lok Sabha seat has assumed political significance in the wake of the Ram temple-Babri Masjid dispute. The seat is currently held by the BJP. But after the SP-BSP alliance, it has become a big challenge for the BJP to return to this seat.
Lok Sabha elections2019: In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, 13 candidates were in the fray from the Faizabad constituency. The BJP had given ticket to the then sitting MP Lallu Singh. Anand Sen was the SP-BSP alliance candidate and Nirmal Khatri was the Congress candidate. In Faizabad Lok Sabha seat, 61.02 per cent polling was recorded. BJP's Lallu Singh defeated SP's Anand Sen Yadav in the election.
