In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Ajay Kumar Mandal of the Janata Dal (United) won the Bhagalpur constituency with 536,031 votes, defeating Ajeet Sharma of the Indian National Congress by 104,868 votes.

In Bhagalpur Constituency 2024 Lok Sabha Election Results, Ajay Kumar Mandal of the Janata Dal (United) is declared the winner, securing 536031 votes and surpassing Ajeet Sharma of the Indian National Congress by 104868 votes.

Bhagalpur is a district and Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar, located on the southern bank of the Ganges River. It is the third-largest city in Bihar and serves as a major educational and commercial hub. As per the 2011 census, Bhagalpur has a population of 3.038 million, with a literacy rate of 63.14%. The fertile plains surrounding the city benefit from its location along the Ganges.

 

The first Lok Sabha election in Bhagalpur was held in 1951 when it was combined with Darbhanga as a single seat. They were later separated during delimitation. In the 2019 elections, Janata Dal United's Ajay Kumar Mandal won with 618,254 votes, followed by RJD's Shailesh Kumar with 340,624 votes. Additionally, 31,567 people chose the NOTA option, making it the third-highest count.
