Phani Bhusan Choudhury of the Asom Gana Parishad secured victory in the 2024 Barpeta Lok Sabha election with 860,113 votes, defeating Deep Bayan of the Indian National Congress by 222,351 votes.

In Barpeta Constituency 2024 Lok Sabha Election Results, Phani Bhusan Choudhury of the Asom Gana Parishad is declared the winner, securing 860113 votes and surpassing Deep Bayan of the Indian National Congress by 222351 votes.

Barpeta is one of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam, known as the Satra Nagari or Temple City due to its numerous Vaishnav temples. The Congress party has a strong presence in this constituency.

 

The election for this seat was successfully held on May 7th, with a voter turnout of 85.24 percent. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress candidate Abdul Khaleq won with 645,173 votes, followed by AGP's Kumar Deepak Das with 504,866 votes, and AIUDF candidate Rafiqul Islam with 248,667 votes.
