Ambedkar Nagar, a district in Uttar Pradesh, was established in 1996 as a Lok Sabha constituency by Chief Minister Mayawati. Akbarpur town, the constituency's headquarters, is located on the Tamsa river, divided into Akbarpur and Shahzadpur. The area is primarily agricultural and fishing-dependent, with a thermal power station and a cement manufacturing plant.

 

Ambedkar Lok Sabha elections 2019: Ritesh Pandey of BSP won by 5,64,118 votes. Mukut Bihari of BJP got 4,68,238 votes. Prem Nath Nishad of PSP(L) got 2,390 votes
