Akhilesh Yadav raises concerns over the Women’s Reservation Bill and links it to delimitation and census issues.

Akhilesh Yadav Criticises Women’s Reservation Bill, Calls for Census Before Delimitation

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav said at a press conference in Lucknow that the Women's Reservation Bill was a black document of the BJP's crackdown politics which was thwarted by the opposition with collective efforts. He said that the BJP has lost on women's reservation.

Every effort of the BJP is to divide the people. The BJP wanted to cheat women by creating a rift in their unity, but their plans were dusted off by the opposition. This is a victory of the public consciousness of the country which has become active against the BJP. Akhilesh said that the BJP was trying to make women a slogan.

Akhilesh Yadav said that in the name of delimitation, this bill had also come to violate the rights of women by changing the form. About 95 per cent of PDAs were brought against women. He said that first the census should be conducted and then there should be delimitation.

There was a pretense of bringing the half-hearted Women's Reservation Bill. He said that first the census should be conducted and then there should be delimitation. Akhilesh said that instead of women empowerment, there is an attempt to appease. We are not against women, we want to give them true representation. He said that in the name of amendment, the BJP was showing haste so that the census would not have to be conducted. Caste reservation will also have to be given when the census is done. This was a big move of the BJP.
