Avinash Pande, the state in-charge of Congress, met jointly with the alliance party leaders on Wednesday to discuss the plan.

According to SP City President Fazal Mehmood, both leaders will arrive to the CSA helipad straight after speaking at the Kannauj election gathering on May 10. He will speak to a crowd at Chunniganj's GIC ground later.

Both the leaders will reach their respective constituencies.

Rahul and Akhilesh had earlier addressed an election meeting at the Parade Ground in February 2017. This time, the GIC ground has been chosen. Both are located in densely populated areas of the city.

The SP and the Congress are the main political parties in the region. The election meeting is also considered important for the alliance because after three phases of elections, now the fourth phase is going to be held, which can be decisive for the state and the country.

The two leaders have only met jointly for elections once thus far in Amroha. Earlier, the meeting of the two leaders was scheduled to be held at Akbarpur seat, but on this occasion it has been changed to Kanpur seat. Rahul Gandhi is contesting from the Kanpur Lok Sabha seat.

Rahul Gandhi, on his part, is said to have told the SP leadership that he wants to come together in Kannauj and Kanpur. Thereafter, the decision was taken.
