Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was visited by his sister at Adiala Jail, putting an end to intense death rumours and offering the first verified update on his condition amid weeks of restricted family access.
Over the past few weeks, Imran Khan’s family and political party struggled to gain access to him, sparking massive speculation about his health and even rumours of his death inside prison. Supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) launched widespread protests demanding transparency and direct verification of his condition.
Authorities at Adiala Jail had earlier blocked multiple attempts by family members to meet him despite court orders. This blackout further increased public anxiety, making the situation more volatile.
When his sister Uzma Khanum was finally granted permission, the visit lasted around 30 minutes under strict security. After the meeting, she confirmed that Imran Khan is physically safe and stable, although he expressed concerns about psychological pressure and mental torture due to prolonged isolation.
PTI supporters, who had gathered outside the jail, continued raising slogans demanding regular communication and independent medical evaluation. The visit eased some tension but sparked new questions about jail conditions and government transparency.
As political unrest in Pakistan continues, Imran Khan’s treatment in custody remains a focal issue for international observers, human-rights groups, and millions of supporters watching
closely.
