After the success of Article 370, Yami Gautam is set to take on another powerful real-life role as she portrays Shah Bano Begum in an upcoming biopic. The film will chronicle Shah Bano’s seven-year-long legal battle that led to a landmark Supreme Court judgment on women’s rights in India. 

Now, the project has gained further momentum with the addition of Emraan Hashmi, who will play Shah Bano’s husband, an affluent and influential advocate. His stance on the case not only shaped the legal proceedings but also sparked a nationwide political debate. Emraan is expected to bring depth to this complex character, adding intensity to the high-stakes courtroom drama. 

The film will be directed by Suparn Varma, known for his work on The Family Man Season 2. With a gripping real-life story, a stellar cast, and an acclaimed director at the helm, the Shah Bano biopic is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the year.
