On Tuesday, comedian Sunil Pal disappeared for several hours. According to India Today, Sarita Pal, the comedian's wife, reported him missing to the Santacruz Police Station on Tuesday. After his wife repeatedly tried to reach him on his phone, the comic would not answer. Sunil Pal had flown outside of Mumbai to perform for a show. Additionally, the comedian had told his wife that he would be coming home on Tuesday, December 3. However, he never came back, and despite repeated attempts to reach him, no responses were received. At the Santacruz Police Station, his wife has lodged a missing persons case.

According to the official, Sunil himself called his family late in the evening to let them know he was okay and would be returning home either late Tuesday or early Wednesday, adding a twist to the "lost" story. Sunil said that his wife had not made a formal police report because he had gotten in touch with his family. The person further stated that when the comedian-actor gets home during the day, police will question him about his whereabouts. "Sunil ji see baat ho gayee" (I spoke to Sunil) was what Sunil's wife Sarita said to a paparazzo. He spoke with the police.

Sunil Pal, known for his rib-tickling performances and unique style, has been a beloved figure in Indian comedy. He gained national fame after winning the first season of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and has since appeared in numerous comedy shows and films.

Sunil alleged in 2017 that Anees Bazmee, a well-known Bollywood director who most recently directed Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, had refused to pay for a performance he had asked for. "I have between ₹20 and ₹25 lakh that is locked in the market with several producers." In the sector, late payments from producers are rather usual. As artists, however, we can recognise when a producer is truly short on cash or resources. But when a producer like Anees, who makes crores of rupees, acts in this way, it is unacceptable," Sunil said.
