Chander Prakash Becomes First Crorepati of KBC Season 16, Wins ₹1 Crore and Luxury Car; Amitabh Bachchan Celebrates with Emotional Hug

History was made on the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) as Chander Prakash became the first contestant of the 16th season to win the coveted ₹1 crore prize. Hosted by the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, the moment turned emotional as Prakash, a modest man from Haryana, not only secured the massive prize but also received a luxury car as an additional reward.

Chander Prakash, a schoolteacher by profession, impressed the audience and Mr. Bachchan with his composed demeanour and extensive knowledge throughout the game. As the final ₹1 crore question was posed, the tension on the set was palpable, but Prakash remained calm, confidently delivering the correct answer.

In the clip, Amitabh yelled, "₹1 crore," as he stood in front of the crowd. Chander received applause and cheers from the crowd. Then Amitabh hugged him and remarked, "Gale lagjaiyyye aap humare (let us hug)". The caption for the video read, "This season's first crorepati, best wishes to Chander Parkash from us! Chander Parkash ko hum sab ki ore se hardik shubhkaamnaye!"

“I never thought I would be standing here, winning ₹1 crore. This is a life-changing moment for me and my family,” Prakash said, his voice filled with gratitude. His journey to the jackpot was a blend of hard work, perseverance, and nerves of steel, as he tackled a series of tough questions on topics ranging from science and history to current events.

The ₹1 crore question that made Chander the KBC 16's first crorepati. The question asked was: Which nation's major city is a port with the Arabic term "abode of peace," rather than the nation's capital? A) Somalia, B) Oman, C) Tanzania, and D) Brunei were the available possibilities. Chander correctly identified Tanzania after utilising the "Double Dip" lifeline.

In addition to the ₹1 crore, Prakash was awarded a luxury car, which left him even more overwhelmed. The unexpected bonus came as a delightful surprise, and Prakash expressed his excitement about driving his new car back to his hometown.

For Chander Prakash, this win represents a turning point in his life. As a schoolteacher, he had long aspired to provide better opportunities for his family and contribute to the education of underprivileged children in his village. With the prize money, Prakash hopes to fulfill these dreams, dedicating a portion to charitable causes.
