Ayan Mukerji to begin work on Brahmāstra 2 after War 2

Director Ayan Mukerji is set to return to the Brahmāstra franchise after completing his work on War 2. In an interview yesterday, actor Ranbir Kapoor confirmed that Mukerji will soon begin working on Brahmāstra Part 2: Dev.

The first installment, Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva*, was released in 2022 and starred Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The film, inspired by Hindu mythology and supernatural powers, became a major box office success. Fans have been eagerly awaiting news about the sequel, which was announced as part of a planned trilogy.

Currently, Ayan Mukerji is busy directing War 2y, the sequel to War (2019). The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR and is in its final phase of shooting. It is scheduled to release on August 15, 2025. Once War 2 is completed, Mukerji will shift his focus to Brahmāstra Part 2: Dev, continuing the saga of astras and mythological powers.

With Brahmāstra being a visual spectacle that blended Indian mythology with modern storytelling, expectations for the sequel are high. Fans are excited to see how the story unfolds and who will portray the character of Dev, which has remained a mystery so far.
