The Election Commission has issued a notice to political strategist Prashant Kishor for allegedly being enrolled as a voter in two different states, raising questions about dual registration and its legal implications.

According to reports, the Election Commission detected that Prashant Kishor’s name appears in the voter lists of both Bihar and Delhi. This violates Section 17 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, which prohibits a person from being registered as a voter in more than one constituency. The EC has sought an explanation from Kishor regarding the alleged dual entries and has given him a set period to respond.

Sources reveal that the matter came to light during the ongoing verification of voter rolls. Officials are expected to initiate corrective measures once Kishor’s response is received. The Election Commission has also reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and accuracy in the electoral roll system.

Prashant Kishor, a prominent political strategist and founder of I-PAC, has not yet issued an official statement on the matter. The issue has sparked debate across political circles, with some calling for stricter measures against dual voter registration to uphold the integrity of the democratic pr

ocess.
