Neeraj Chopra recorded a season-best 89.49 metres to finish second in the Lausanne Diamond League.

Neeraj Chopra saves the best for last; Popular Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra leapt back in time to throw a season-best 89.49m in his final attempt to secure second place in the Lausanne Diamond League on Thursday. Chopra, 26, started the competition in fourth place after throwing the javelin 85.58m on his fifth attempt. His sixth and final attempt of 89.49m was better than his performance at the Paris Olympics and proved he saved his best for last. He nearly finished sixth but his fifth-place performance of 85.58m secured him a place in safety.

After five matches, only the top three will have a chance to advance to the final. . German Julian Weber finished third with 87.08 metres. The best waste (work) ever. > Although my first hurdles were between 80 and 83 metres, I worked hard in my next two attempts in this race, strength and endurance were important. Chopra, who won the gold medal in history last year, won the silver medal with a time of 89.45 metres despite a long jaw injury. He beat Chopra with an Olympic record of 92.97 metres. The last throw is over 90 metres. He increased his personal record to $93.07 million in 2022. Peters led the way with 21 points.


 

Chopra announced Saturday that he will attend the Diamond Conference in Lausanne. He left open the possibility of surgery after the season. He finished second to Czech Jakub Vadlejch in last year’s DL finals in Eugene, USA. Another DL meet will be held in Zurich on September 5, along with the men’s javelin event. The streak is unlikely to be repeated. In fact, Chopra has yet to win a DL conference this year. He finished second in Doha on May 10, losing to Wadleh.
