A 24-year-old lady claims to have married her 50-year-old biological father in a viral video that has startled internet users and sparked heated discussions on morality and cultural ethics surrounding such an unusual and unhealthy relationship.

Jay Singh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, posted the video on X (previously Twitter), and it has received over 5 lakh views. In video, the woman is seen saying to spectators, "This is my father, and now we have showed the world that we are happily married," while wearing a red saree, sindoor, and mangalsutra. "Yes, this is my daughter," her father, who was standing next to her, confirmed the relationship. What exactly is wrong with this, then?

The online community's response has been polarized. Many viewers have expressed shock and condemnation, labeling the act as deeply inappropriate and contrary to societal norms. Comments flooded social media platforms, with users citing ethical, legal, and religious arguments against such unions.

The father responded, "In which period are you living?" when a member of the public asked the woman whether she felt humiliated. Why feel embarrassed? In response to why they released the video, the woman said it was done to stop people from spreading rumors about their relationship.  "I chose to be married after I had feelings for him a long time ago. The woman in the video said, "Now we are married," which further escalated the noise.
