Bomb Threats Trigger Evacuation of Several Delhi Schools, Students Sent Home Safely

Multiple schools in Delhi were forced to evacuate on Monday after receiving bomb threats via email, causing panic among students, parents, and staff. Authorities acted swiftly to ensure the safety of everyone, and students were sent home as a precautionary measure.

According to police sources, at least five prominent schools across the city received threats early in the day, claiming that explosive devices had been planted on their premises. The messages warned of imminent danger and demanded action, though the specifics of the threats have not been disclosed.

Parents were immediately informed, and local authorities were called to the schools. Police teams, along with bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs, were deployed to search the campuses thoroughly. As of now, no explosives have been found.

“We are treating this as a serious matter and are investigating the source of the threats. Cyber experts are analyzing the emails to trace their origin,” said a senior police official.

School administrations coordinated with the police to ensure orderly evacuations and maintain calm among students. "The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We followed all safety protocols and sent students home as soon as the threat was received," said the principal of one of the targeted schools.

This is not the first time Delhi schools have faced such incidents. Experts believe such threats are often hoaxes intended to disrupt normal functioning, but they stress the importance of treating each warning with utmost seriousness.

Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and cooperate during the investigation. “We request parents not to panic and to rely on verified information,” said the police spokesperson.

Delhi’s Education Department has also issued a statement condemning the act and assured schools of enhanced security measures. The department has called for a review of existing protocols to address such emergencies effectively.

As investigations continue, the incident has reignited concerns about the safety of educational institutions and the need for robust systems to counter such threats. Parents and school officials are hopeful for swift action to prevent a recurrence of such alarming incidents.
