NCW Alleges Twist in Prajwal Revanna Sex Scandal: Claims Woman Was 'Forced' to File False Case

The NCW has brought to light alleged coercion in the Karnataka sex video scandal investigation, with a woman claiming she was forced by individuals masquerading as police to file a false complaint. This revelation has sparked controversy, with accusations against the SIT of intimidating victims. Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has accused the SIT of using threats to extract false statements from victims, raising questions about the probe's integrity.

The woman said that she was forced by a group of three people dressed as Karnataka police officials to lodge a false complaint after being threatened with harassment

The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Thursday said that one of the woman complainants in the Sex video scandal involving JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna in Karnataka, has accused three men dressed as police officials, of threatening her to lodge a “false complaint".

The woman said that she was forced by a group of three people claiming to be cops to lodge a false complaint after being threatened with harassment.

NCW further stated that the woman sought protection for her and her family as the three individuals were issuing dire threats by calling her mobile from different numbers.

SIT came to know about the woman only after NCW forwarded the complaint the day before yesterday to SIT. SIT has started the investigation of the complaint to find out the details of the persons who called the woman and strict action will be taken against those persons.

Following NCW’s revelation, former Karnataka Chief Minister and JD(S) state President HD Kumaraswamy on Thursday accused the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of threatening the victims with prostitution to extract false statements.

SIT is probing the case involving former Minister H D Revanna and his son Prajwal Revanna. H D Revanna was arrested by the SIT on May 5 after sexual assault allegations were levelled against him and his son, Prajwal.

“The investigating officers are going to the doorsteps of the victims and threatening them. Tell us, isn’t it a fact that the SIT officers are threatening the victims with false prostitution cases against them? Is this how the probe is being conducted," Kumaraswamy questioned Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, who had termed the sex video scandal as the biggest sex scandal in the world,
