Anjali Birla's cousin filed acomplaint with Maharashtra Cyber for defamation, malicious insult, breach of peace, and violation of the Information Technology Act after the erroneous post was reposted or shared by seven other individuals.

A complaint has been filed against an X user for allegedly making and sharing offensive "memes" regarding Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra. According to a police official on Friday, a case was filed at the Thane district's Khadakpada police station on Thursday for encouraging animosity between various groups and other offenses based on the complaint.
Since July 20, the accused has circulated offensive "memes" and altered photos of Fadnavis. He said that although an investigation is ongoing, no one has been taken into custody.
