CCS Meets to Review West Asia Crisis; Focus on Energy Supply and Strategy

Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, S. Jaishankar and other prominent Union Ministers attended the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) at the Prime Minister's residence. It discussed the West Asia crisis. It is being told that the CCS will review the previous decisions. It will focus on uninterrupted supply of PNG and LPG, assess the availability of fertilizers, and deliberate on the future strategy.

 

PM has mentioned in Mann Ki Baat

 

In his recent address on the 'Mann Ki Baat' programme, PM Modi had described the situation as "challenging" and urged to maintain unity. He had also cautioned against spreading rumours and politicising the issue. He stressed on the collective responsibility in dealing with this crisis. In previous meetings, the disruptions caused by the conflict, particularly the impact on global energy supply chains, were assessed.

In fact, the situation has become even more serious due to the increased tension around the Strait of Hormuz. A large part of the world's energy passes through this strait. The Prime Minister has also spoken to several world leaders, including Donald Trump, to discuss this emerging crisis and its wider implications.
