Pakistan World Cup Squad 2024: Babar Azam Leads Balanced Side

Pakistan has unveiled its 15-man squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, with skipper Babar Azam leading a team that blends seasoned campaigners with exciting new faces. The tournament will be jointly hosted by the West Indies and USA, kicking off in June.

The selection committee, following a two-hour meeting, opted for a balanced approach. This included the much-anticipated returns of Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim, who reversed their retirements earlier this year. Their experience adds depth to the bowling attack.

For Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Saim Ayub, and Usman Khan, the World Cup will be a new experience. Their inclusion signifies Pakistan's commitment to nurturing young talent. The remaining eight members were part of the 2022 World Cup squad, ensuring a strong foundation of experience.

The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) expressed confidence in the squad, highlighting the blend of youth and experience. They believe the team's chemistry, honed through recent matches, will hold them in good stead during the marquee event.

Pakistan's journey in the T20 World Cup begins on June 6th against the host nation, USA, at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas. Cricket fans are eagerly waiting to see if Pakistan can lift the coveted trophy this year.
