Anand Sagar Chopra, son of filmmaker Ramanand Sagar, passed away in Mumbai on Friday. He was 84 years old and was one of Ramanand Sagar's five children. A statement was also issued on behalf of the family and it was told that Anand Sagar is no longer in this world. 

His last rites were performed on the evening of February 13 at Pawan Hans crematorium and as soon as the news was received, many celebs attended his funeral.

"It is with deep sorrow and grief that the Sagar family announces the sad news of the passing away of their beloved father, Shri Anand Ramanand Sagar Chopra, who passed away peacefully today, February 13, 2026," the family said in a statement. The son of the great Ramanand Sagar, the creator of the 1987 show Ramayana, Anandji was part of the second generation to manage Sagar Arts. Full of affection, dignity and values, Shri Anand Ramanand Sagar Chopra touched the lives of many with his kindness, wisdom and gentle nature. '
