New Delhi:
The impeachment case against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has been handed over to the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha Secretariat. On Friday, the Trinamool Congress in a more than 10-page notice mentioned seven reasons for Gyanesh Kumar's removal from the post.
In these 7 points, Bihar's SIR process has been mentioned. There has also been talk of taking away the right to vote of the people. At the same time, it has also been accused of bias towards some political parties. It also mentions many decisions of the Supreme Court.
The committee will be formed again in 14 days before the chairman.
The Chairman of both the Houses has 14 days to do so. If the Trinamool Congress does not withdraw its application in these 14 days and if it is found that the notice of the Trinamool Congress is correct, then the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha will form a committee together and this committee will be responsible for the first investigation of the allegations for this impeachment and give its opinion whether there is an impeachment case against the Chief Election Commissioner or not.
