Two Army personnel lost their lives after succumbing to injuries sustained during an encounter with militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

 

The incident has once again highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in the region as they continue counter-insurgency operations to restore peace and stability.

 

According to reports, the encounter broke out after security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following intelligence inputs about the presence of militants. During the exchange of fire, the Army personnel sustained critical injuries and were rushed to a nearby medical facility, where they later succumbed.

 

The region has witnessed heightened tension as operations against militants continue in South Kashmir. Authorities have increased security measures to prevent further unrest, while efforts are underway to track down the militants involved in the incident.

 

Leaders across the nation expressed condolences and paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The Army reaffirmed its commitment to continue its counter-terror operations in the Valley despite the loss.
