Qasem Soleimani, who was a highly regarded person in Iran ,was killed by a US drone strike just outside of Baghdad airport in 2020. 

On his fourth death anniversary , there were two blasts heard close to his tomb in a matter of minutes.

The two explosive explosions close to his grave  left over 100 people dead and several others injured.

Iran's president ,Ebrahim Raisi , stated the act as ''cowardly'' and the perpetrators would be punished soon for commiting such a heinous crime.

According to Iranian official TV, there was no such specification observed as to why this blast was caused .

The live feed showed thousands of mourners taking part in the death anniversary, and it said that some people were hurt in a stampede that followed the explosives.

On-site ambulances were also observed to help the ones in need.
