Shahjahanpur: A serious road accident occurred on Thursday morning in the Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, leading to the deaths of approximately 12 individuals. The collision, caused by thick fog, involved a tanker and a tempo in the Allahganj police station area. Around a dozen passengers are said to have perished in the incident, with the police transporting the injured to the hospital. The tragedy unfolded in the Thana Sehra Maun region, located in the southern part of Mau district.
The victims were en route from the village of Damgadh in the Madnapur police station area to bathe in the Ganges when the accident transpired due to the dense fog. Upon being informed of the situation, SP Ashok Kumar Meena arrived at the scene. Suresh Kashyap was taking his family for a Ganges bath in his own tempo when a tanker collided with it near Allahganj Road. In response, the SP directed Madanpur police station in-charge Ashwani Kumar to visit the homes of the deceased's families.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed sorrow over the occurrence and extended condolences to the families of the deceased. Furthermore, officials have been instructed to attend the scene for rescue efforts and provide appropriate care for the injured. The Chief Minister has also urged them to meet with the families of the deceased and offer their condolences.
