Paris Olympics 2024: Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian woman wrestler to reach the finals of the World Championship. Vinesh defeated the Cuban wrestler in the semi-finals of the 50kg freestyle event on August 6. The Phogat family of Vinesh is a well-known name in the field of wrestling in India.

Vinesh Phogat made Olympic history in Paris. In the semifinals, he made history by taking home the bronze medal. The first female wrestler from India to make it to the final is her. Vinesh faced up against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the former president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), last year.
