Major Terror in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri District

Terrorists attacked Rajouri’s Gundha Khawas Village on Monday morning, and security forces launched a massive search operation

Major Terror in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri District

Terrorists targeted an Indian Army camp in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir early Monday morning. The attack has prompted a large-scale counter-terrorism operation by security forces in the region.

On Monday at 3:10 a.m., terrorists broke into the home of a Village Defense Guard (VDC) member in Gundha, Rajouri. There was a firefight when an Army force nearby responded.

Defense spokesperson Lt Col. Suneel Bartwal said, "A significant terror attack on an Army picket in a distant area of Rajouri has been mitigated."

The terrorists first attacked VGD Parshottam Kumar’s house, who was recently awarded the Shaurya Chakra by President Droupadi Murmu. The shooting of the terrorists killed a cow and injured his uncle, Vijay Kumar.

This occurred just a few days after Jammu and Kashmir Police, paramilitary groups, and intelligence agencies met jointly at police headquarters on Saturday to discuss the current security situation under the leadership of Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.

Almost a dozen terror strikes in six districts of Jammu have claimed the lives of 27 individuals since the year's beginning, including five terrorists, a village defense guard, and 11 security officials.
