In connection with abetment of suicide case, Bengaluru Police have detained Nikita Singhania, the wife of a 34-year-old techie who committed suicide, as well as her mother Visha Singhania and brother Anurag Singhania. They were brought before the court after being picked up in Prayagraj and Gurugram, respectively. At the moment, the accused are being held in judicial custody.
According to Bengaluru Police, Nikita Singhania, the wife of a techie, is A1 in the case, while her mother Visha Singhania and brother Anurag Singhania were designated as A2 and A3, respectively. All three were taken into custody on Saturday morning and sent to Bengaluru.
The accused's hometown of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, was visited by a Bengaluru Police team on Friday to conduct an investigation. The accusers have already requested anticipatory bail, claiming they are innocent concerning the techie's suicide, which sparked a national uproar. With the wife and her family members involved, Bengaluru Police filed a formal complaint.
The case has sparked widespread public outrage, with many calling for stricter laws and swift justice in cases of mental harassment and abetment of suicide.
