Abu Dhabi Welcomes 2025 in Spectacular Style with Record-Breaking Fireworks and Drone Show

Abu Dhabi hosted the biggest fireworks show at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, dazzling the world with an incredible New Year's Eve celebration. The 50-minute show enthralled spectators and established six new Guinness World Records. In addition to the fireworks, a captivating 6,000-drone show lit up the sky for more than 20 minutes, creating breathtaking airborne art that stunned spectators.

A record-breaking midnight extravaganza that illuminated the Emirati capital was the culmination of the festival's big finale, which increased suspense with fireworks displays every hour starting at 6 p.m. Yas Island and the Corniche, two renowned spots in Abu Dhabi, participated in the festivities with their own breathtaking fireworks.

Instagram was flooded with videos of the event, which captured the beautiful scenes and lively energy as fireworks erupted throughout the night sky. The festivities demonstrated Abu Dhabi's willingness to achieve its prior milestones. With a 40-minute fireworks display in 2023, the Sheikh Zayed Festival gained international acclaim and set three Guinness World Records: time, formation, and number. Using more than 5,000 drones, the festival also produced the largest airborne logo in the world last year.

With breathtaking views from places like Samaliyah Island, Yas Bay Waterfront, Yas Marina, and Yas Beach, Yas Island held its famous fireworks displays this year at 9 p.m. and midnight. The Abu Dhabi Corniche, which is best viewed from locations including Corniche Beach, Lulu Island, and the MOTN Festival, contributed to the festivities with its own show.  The capital was not the only place to celebrate the New Year. Vibrant fireworks also lit up the night at other Abu Dhabi locations, such as Madinat Zayed Public Park, Ghayathi, Al Mughira Beach, Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, and the Liwa Festival.

This isn’t the first time Abu Dhabi has set a global standard for celebrations. The city’s commitment to excellence and innovation has consistently placed it on the world map for record-breaking events. Abu Dhabi’s New Year celebration not only welcomed 2025 with grandeur but also set the tone for an exciting year ahead, as the city continues to push boundaries and inspire the world with its creativity and vision.
