Kanpur News: An accused male of raping an eight-year-old girl has been taken into custody by the Gwaltoli police. The victim's relatives have filed an appeal with the police administration following the accused's detention.

With chocolate, the boy brings the girl home

The eight-year-old girl was playing outside her Gwaltoli home on Friday when Maulana Mukhtar, also known as Maulana Chacha, a 70- year-old Maqbara Gwaltoli resident, brought her inside under the guise of giving her chocolates, according to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), Dinesh Tripathi. In the meantime, the neighbors heard the girl scream and broke down the door. But as soon as he had the opportunity, he left.

The police filed a case under the POCSO, rape, and other provisions based on the victim's family's allegation. While Maulana Mukhtar was attempting to leave the city on Monday morning, a police unit from Chhap Banglia Road detained him.

The child was brought to the accused's home as well

According to locals, the accused had returned home with a child in the afternoon on Friday before to the event. But the child was able to get away. He told a few individuals in the neighborhood. The people in the area had been closely monitoring him ever since.

A concession was made under duress

The accused Maulana Mukhtar, according to the locals, has a negative social reputation. He has misbehaved with other kids before this occurrence. Nevertheless, by applying social pressure to the victims, the accused and his family compromised on each occasion. Without alerting the police, he had left the scene.
