New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a meeting of the Union Cabinet on Friday, August 2, during which the decisions were made. Cabinet approves eight major projects related to the National High-Speed Road Corridor. In Uttar Pradesh, there are three high-speed road networks. These consist of the Ayodhya Ring Road Corridor (4 lanes), the Kanpur Ring Road Corridor (6lanes), and the Agra-Gwalior (6 lanes). Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the gift.
4-lane Ayodhya ring road
The 4-lane ring road is a gift to Ram Nagri Ayodhya. The development of the 68-kilometer, 4-lane, access-controlled Ayodhya Ring Road is estimated to cost Rs 3,935 crore. National highways that travel through the city, including NH 227A, NH 227B, and NH 27 (East WestCorridor), will be less congested thanks to the ring road. It will be possible for devotees to travel to the Ram temple more quickly now that this ring road is being built.
Kanpur has approved a 6-lane ring road
Kanpur boasts a 6-lane ring road in addition to Ayodhya's 4-lane one. The 6-lane, 47-kilometer access-controlled segment will be constructed for Rs 3,298 crore. On important national highways like NH 19, NH 27 East West Corridor, NH 34, and the soon-to-be Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway and Ganga Expressway, the ring road would divide long-distance traffic from city-bound traffic.
Agra-Gwalior 6-lane corridor opened
The Union Cabinet has also approved a 6-lane corridor that will run from the Taj city of Agra to Gwalior. The distance between Agra and Gwalior will be covered in half the time if this corridor is built. The development of the 88-kilometer high-speed line will set you back Rs 4,613 crore.
