Parimal Suklabaidya of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Silchar constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election with 652,405 votes, defeating Surya Kanta Sarkar of the Indian National Congress by 264,311 votes.

In Silchar Constituency 2024 Lok Sabha Election Results, Parimal Suklabaidya of the Bharatiya Janata Party is declared the winner, securing 652405 votes and surpassing Surya Kanta Sarkar of the Indian National Congress by 264311 votes.

Silchar is a constituency in Assam, encompassing seven assembly seats: Silchar, Sonai, Dholai, Udarbond, Lakhipur, Barkhola, and Katigorah. Located in the Cachar district, Silchar is the second largest city in Assam by both area and population, with a population of 1,677,821 according to the 2011 census.

 

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rajdeep Roy of the BJP won the seat with 499,414 votes, while Sushmita Dev of Congress came in second with 417,818 votes.
