The Shekhawati region of Rajasthan has been a Congress stronghold since the beginning. But in the Modi wave of 2014, the BJP broke this myth and demolished this strong fort of the Congress. The Shekhawati region comprises three Lok Sabha seats - Jhunjhunu, Sikar and Churu. But Sikar has its own identity in the Jat politics of the state and the country. Sikar Lok Sabha constituency number 5 is a general seat which is made up of Sikar and part of Jaipur. The Jat-dominated Sikar district of Shekhawati is known as the soldiers' district in the state. Sikar also has a distinct identity because this area has been used by all political parties to give a big message in the Jat politics of the country.
