Nagina Lok Sabha seat is one of the 17 reserved Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. The seat came into existence before the 2009 Lok Sabha elections following the recommendation of the Delimitation Commission in 2008.
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, the Nagina parliamentary seat went to the Samajwadi Party, and in 2014, this seat also showed the impact of the Modi wave and the victory went to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The history of Nagina Lok Sabha seat is not very old. Earlier, it was part of the Bijnor Lok Sabha constituency, but during the 2008 delimitation exercise, the demand to make it a separate parliamentary constituency began and it was separated in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
Lok Sabha elections 2019: In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BSP's Girish Chandra defeated the BJP by a margin of 5,68,378 votes. BJP's Yashwant Singh came second with 4,01,546 votes and Congress' Omvati Devi came third with 20,046 votes.
