Madhubani, situated in Bihar's Darbhanga division, is a prominent symbol of Mithila culture, along with Darbhanga. Globally renowned for its exquisite Mithila paintings and significant makhana (foxnut) production, Madhubani district is a major export hub for this unique art form.

 

In the 2019 elections, Ashok Kumar Yadav of the BJP secured the seat with 595,843 votes, defeating VIP's Badri Kumar Purbe and independent candidate Dr. Shakeel Ahmad. This victory highlighted BJP's continued influence in the constituency.
