Machhlishahr Election Result Highlights: Priya Saroj, candidate of the Samajwadi Party won the Machhlishahr constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by 4,51,292 votes. BJP's Bholanath(b.p. Saroj) lost the election by a margin of by 35,850 votes.

Machhlishahr under Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh State. In the west, Pratapgarh connects Rae Bareli and Lucknow to Machhlishahr, while Machhlishahr is connected to Jaunpur and Varanasi on the eastern side. Based on the 2011 census, Machhlishahr tehsil has a population of over 7 lakh (7,36,209), of which females (3,75,252) outnumber males (7,36,209). The gender ratio of this parliamentary constituency is among the few parliamentary constituencies in the state where the number of women is more than men. The number of women is 1,040 compared to a thousand men. The literacy rate is 70.81 per cent.


Lok Sabha elections 2019: The BJP has fielded Bholanath while the BSP has fielded Tribhuvan Ram. A total of 15 candidates were trying their luck from this seat. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's B P Saroj won from this seat, he got 4,88,397 votes. Tribhuvan Ram of the BSP came second with 4,88,216 votes and Raj Nath of the SBSP came third with 11,223 votes.
