In Katihar Constituency 2024 Lok Sabha Election Results, Tariq Anwar of the Indian National Congress is declared the winner, securing 567092 votes and surpassing Dulal Chandra Goswami of the Janata Dal (United) by 49863 votes.

Katihar district, surrounded by over half a dozen rivers including the Ganges, Mahananda, Kosi, Barandi, and Kari Kosi, had a population of 3,068,149 according to the 2011 census. The district comprises seven assembly constituencies, six of which fall under the Katihar Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2019 elections, JD(U) leader Dulal Chand Goswami won the Katihar seat with 559,423 votes, while Congress candidate Tariq Anwar came in second with 502,220 votes.
