INC candidate Charanjit Singh Channi wins by 1,75,933 votes and received total 3,90,053 votes. INC candidate Charanjit Singh Channi defeated BJP's Sushil Kumar Rinku, who received 2,14,060 votes.

Jalandhar Election Result Highlights: Charanjit Singh Channi, candidate of the Indian National Congress won the Jalandhar, Punjab Constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by 3,90,053 votes. BJP's Sushil Kumar Rinku lost the election by a margin of by 1,75,933 votes. 

 

In Jalandhar 2024 Lok Sabha Election Results, Charanjit Singh Channi, candidate of the Indian National Congress defeated BJP's Sushil Kumar Rinku, who received 2,14,060 votes.

Jalandhar is one of the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in Punjab. It is located 148 km northwest of state capital Chandigarh, 83.5 km southeast of Amritsar city and 61.3 km north of Ludhiana. It is about 381 km from the national capital, Delhi. Jalandhar is known for its sports goods industry. As per the 2011 census, Jalandhar had a population of 8,68,929 with 4,60,811 males and 4,08,118 females. The literacy rate is 86.20 per cent. Scheduled Castes constitute 27.26 per cent of the population.


Lok Sabha elections 2019: A total of 19 candidates are in the fray for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat. The Congress has once again fielded sitting MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh from here, while the Shiromani Akali Dal has given ticket to Charanjit Singh Atwal. The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded retired judge Zora Singh.
